Camden Nelson Wrote a Terrific Essay About Dark Tide
I would like to give a very special shout-out to Camden Nelson, a Duxbury (MA) High School junior, who shared with me an outstanding essay she wrote on Dark Tide. Camden’s essay was titled A Preventable Disaster: Corporate Responsibility in Dark Tide. Her assignment was to choose a book to read and critique the author’s thesis and argument.
In her paper, which you can read here, Camden shrewdly addresses all the important points of the book, and does a great job summarizing main themes, sources, and characters. Camden wrote the essay for her U.S. History 2 class, taught by Mr. Michael Bagshaw.
She enjoys history and writing and is also currently enrolled in Advanced Placement (AP) Language Arts & Composition and AP Government classes at DHS. Camden previously resided in Boston’s North End, which sparked her interest in the molasses flood and in the history of the American Revolution (for those outside of the Boston area, the North End was the site of the flood in 1919 and the beginning of the Revolution in 1775!).
Please join me in congratulating Camden for her exemplary work!
