Here we are at the beginning of April, and it got me to thinking that I believe April of 1945 was one of the most iconic months in history, with momentous events in World War II the reason why.  Think about April 81 years ago – American troops in the Pacific landed on Okinawa and their counterparts in Europe liberated the Buchenwald concentration camp; President Franklin D. Roosevelt died in Warm Springs, Georgia, and German Fuehrer Adolf Hitler committed suicide in his Berlin bunker; American and Russian troops linked up at Torgau as they closed in on Berlin from East and West.  Do you have any other candidates for iconic months in a particular year of history?
