I’ve written about many eras of American history: the  founders / framers (in American Treasures);  the Irish famine/diaspora era (in Voyage of Mercy); the Civil War (in The Caning and The Great Abolitionist); pre/post-Civil War and the progressive era (in A City So Grand); the great immigration era (in Dark Tide and The Boston Italians); and World War II (in Due to Enemy Action and, again, American Treasures).  I’ve also taught WWII at the college level.  What is your favorite era (or eras) of American history?  Why?
