A little over ten years ago, there were dire predictions that the “book as an object” was dead (or dying) and would soon be entirely replaced by e-books. That has not proven true. Numerous stories in the last several years have shown an increase in “physical books” being read by the public (here’s a quick Instagram video post that sums up some data). This has been attributed to “screen fatigue,” a better “tactile experience” with physical books, and a yearn for a return to traditional forms of media (akin to a resurgence in sales of vinyl records and even DVDs). Physical books have always been my preference and always will be, but what about you? Physical books or e-books? Or both? I’m glad we have a choice in formats – what’s yours? And why?
